This term the children have been working on Environmental Art at shore school. They have looked at the work of several artists in class. Then at shore, they’ve created their own work, based on the chosen artists.
The children made clay art based on the work of Richard Long.
The following weeks, they looked at the medium of photography. The work of the two artists was very different.
Nancy Holt used tubing to frame her art.
The children captured the spirit of both artists. For Nancy Holt they used tubes to frame the landscape. They used ipads to take photos of their art.
Ansel Adams used black and white photography to capture American landscapes.
The children used instant cameras to produce black and white photos of landscapes and textures around the shore.
They then made montages with their photos.

Article 13 (freedom of expression) Every child must be free to express their thoughts and opinions and to access all kinds of information, as long as it is within the law.
Article 14 (freedom of thought, belief and religion) Every child has the right to think and believe what they choose and also to practise their religion, as long as they are not stopping other people from enjoying their rights. Governments must respect the rights and responsibilities of parents to guide their child as they grow up.
