When Sophie came from The Woodland Trust, we did lots of fun and interesting things. We all went out and played games like rainforest tig, it shows how hard it is for a rainforest to grow. We also went on a rainforest hunt near our school. We found lost of lichen, fungi and mosses. We identified all the lichens and mosses, then made little clay animals. I made a pony! I learned lots of interesting things, but my favourite fact was that fungi spores are magnetic. Corynn, P6.
It was fun using the clay. I made an owl and used leaves for the wings. I enjoyed playing rainforest tig. We have a rainforest beside our school. Amecia, P1
I loved playing the rainforest game, it taught me how a rainforest is made. I loved making animals out of clay and I made a horse. I learned that we have lots of rain forest near our school, which is very special. Mairi, P4.
I made a turtle out of clay, I chose this animal as I like turtles. I used a twig to make the pattern on the turtle’s shell. We played a game of tig that showed what animals can do to a rainforest. I learned that deer eat the baby trees which mean that there are no new trees. We looked in the trees near our school to see if they were rainforest and they were. I really enjoyed working with Sophie and learnt lots. Oak, P3.
Sophie from the Woodland Trust came to our school for a Temperate Rainforest workshop. We played a game to show how we hard it was for everything to become a rainforest. We also learned that the trees near our school were a rainforest and that was interesting. We also made animals out of clay and I made an owl. We also picked our favourite lichen and wrote about it. I enjoyed working with Sophie. Tommy, P7.
I found out lots of new things when Sophie came to visit. We played a game that showed what challenges rainforests have to go through to actually become a rainforest. My favourite part about Sophie coming to the school was when we made creatures out of clay. I made two barn owls. We also went out to trees near the school to do a scavenger hunt to find out whether it was rainforest…..and it was! Blue, P7.
