We went to Lochdon and Jim Parkin and Alasdair Satchel were there.  Jim Parkin Works with clay models and stopmotion Ardman Animations made things such as Shaun the Sheep, Wallace and Gromit, Chicken run, Flushed Away and more.  Jim Parkin made his job sound really fun. We saw pictures of all of the shows being made. I fely very interested in all of the exciting pictures he showed us.  In almost all jobs, you can work for Ardman Animations.  If you sew, you can make big wererabbits from Wallace and Gromit.I felt surprised when I found out how big all of the clay characters are.  We saw some storyboards of Wallace and Gromit, and it was interesting because it looked the same as the final copy.  I was shocked because they make around eight seconds of animation a day!

Jim Parkin then showed us how to make a person out of plasticene.  First you have to make a ball, then made a five point star which turns in to a head, arms and legs.  Then he showed us how to turn it in to a four legged animal.  First you have to bend the head upwards then bend the arms and legs down.  We then got to make what ever we wanted.  I made a brown blob with yellow lips and one bent arm.

The story my group made was, my character is at the gym then goes to his friends house but he gets knocked out because he ate bad cheese, so my character and monster help their friend back up.  Our stop motion had 119 frames and it was really fun.  The three words I used to describe the workshop werer exciting, fun and inspiring.  I think Jim Parkin has a really fun job.  If I was working in film production I think I would want to help make the metal skeletons inside the clay characters and help with the other engineering.
