On Friday the 17th of January we took part in the R.S.P.B.s Big Garden Birdwatch.

I liked the bird watch because it was fun to find birds.  We do the bird watch to help the birds.  Tommy

We counted birds from the window so that we can help the R.S.P.B. to keep track of the birds.  Aoife

I made a bird feeder with peanut butter and seeds.  Oak

I liked making bird feeders by making a tube, spreading peanut butter on it and rolling it in seeds.  I added a string to hang it on the tree too.  It is important to feed the birds because they usually don’t have much food in the winter.  Eilidh

I enjoyed making the orange bird feeders because we had to empty out all the orange but leave the skin.  We feed the birds in the winter because there isn’t a lot of food.  Ross

Fun facts: Older crow siblings can help their parents raise newborn chicks.  When a crow dies, its neighbor’s may have a funeral.  Ross

Starlings usualy live for about 2-3 years but the world record for the oldest starling is 22years and 11 months!  Starlings mimic other birds.  Aoife
