The P5, 6 and 7s joined Lochdon for a wind turbine workshop on the 18th of September.
Today we learnt all about wind turbines at Lochdon. We also built small wind turbines. It was quite easy to build them because it came in a kit. At the end we got to run outside with our wind turbines. They worked!
Also, we put them in front of a big fan and the wind turbine spun really fast. Ross
We measured the wind speed.
Building our turbines.
Today at Lochdon, we learnt about how wind turbines are made. We got to make a model of a windmill.
Today we went to Lochdon to learn about wind turbines. We made our own wind turbines and tested them in front of a fan. Then we went outside and ran with them in our hand and we had to make sure the nose was pointing forwards so they could spin really fast and they also made a noise. We also measured the strength of a fan. Aoife
I learned about how they build wind turbines and we built a model one out of a special kit. I enjoyed running with the wind turbines and making them go round and round. Owen
I liked building the wind turbines and I learnt that wind turbines at sea are more expensive. Tommy
Today we learned about wind turbines and each group made a model wind turbine, then we put them up to a big fan and measured how fast the wind turbines were going. We learned about off shore and on shore wind turbines.
Next we went out and ran with our wind turbines. We had races to see which wind turbine was spinning the fastest. Eilidh
